Targeting enables you to create conditions for who should receive the survey. You can use targeting to include or exclude segments both on the standard company schedule and any custom schedules.
The number of employees on the schedule overview page indicates how many people match the target at present moment. When viewing past surveys in the Activity page, the numbers next to past surveys display the number of people that received the survey at the time.
Configuration
When using multiple target segments, the survey will include or exclude employees that match any of those segments, rather than a combination of all segments. If you need to target a combination of segments, you can create a new schedule with the main segment as the target. Use Only including or Excluding options to target further.
Example: You need a separate survey for employees in Germany, but excluding new-joiners who have their own survey. Create a new schedule with Germany in the Target field, then set the new-joiner segment in the Excluding field. Ensure that Germany is an excluded segment from the Company schedule and any other potential overlapping schedules.
See Set survey targeting for steps on how to target your surveys.
Recommendation
We recommend keeping all employees on the same schedule as much as possible, as it decreases admin time and maintains consistency. In some cases, a separate schedule is necessary.
Target the segments in a way that avoids employees receiving surveys from multiple schedules. When employees are in more than 1 active schedule, Peakon displays a warning about overlapping schedules.
