Key highlights from our latest report
Overall
As we begin to move past the events of the last few years, we see that businesses are doubling down on a pre-pandemic trend toward prioritizing employee experience, a change precipitated by the increased need for support during the pandemic and the job mobility afforded to employees by remote working options. While in recent months we have started to see employees returning to the workplace, it appears that globally, employees’ work experiences have not changed substantially since the most recent report. We will continue to monitor changes as we enter this next phase of the recovery in 2022.
Segments
While there were no shifts in the overall benchmarks (for example, across all industries), when looking at specific industries we do see movement of greater than 0.2 in a handful of questions for a number of industries
- Automobile & Components
- Capital goods
- Manufacturing
- Consumer Discretionary
- Energy and Utilities

Compared to the benchmark swings of 2020, it appears that the current changes are much more nuanced, with many organizations responding to employee feedback in a way that ensures their current needs are being met. By asking the right questions at the right time and incorporating employee responses into your process and plans, you can take action on feedback in a way that paves the way to a brighter future. That’s why we will continue to keep you aware of changes through quarterly updates.
This update will impact the industry external benchmark score that your company has chosen to be compared to, difference to benchmark calculations shown in the heat map and on driver and question score pages.
