Cause
If you enable data collection on a survey, and choose a survey frequency, the survey will continue to launch at the chosen cadence.
Example: if you selected quarterly frequency, the survey will automatically lunch every quarter.
To stop automated cadence, you can disable data collection until further notice. If a survey has launched without your intention, there are a couple of ways to rectify this.
Solution
Use case
- Survey notifications have not yet sent, or the send-out has started, but not reached all employees due to differing time zones.
- You're using any of these notification channels: Email, SMS, Slack, MS Teams.
Survey channel | Steps |
---|---|
Administration > Schedules > View > Email > Deactivate email send-out. | |
SMS | Administration > Schedules > View > SMS > Deactivate SMS notifications. |
Slack | Administration > Integrations > Slack > Deactivate Slack notifications. |
MS Teams | Administration > Integrations > MS Teams > Deactivate MS Teams notifications. |
Workday PEX cards |
In Workday: Home Cards Workspace > Peakon Employee Voice Survey Notification > Unpublish. |
Mobile app push notifications |
Not possible to deactivate. |

In Administration > Employees, export all employees so you have a record of their statuses prior to the next task. (If all employees are active, skip this step) Now, select all employees and click Edit. Set the Engagement toggle to inactive, then save. The Engagement toggle being active is a necessary criteria for receiving the survey. If an employee is inactive at the time the system tries to email them, the email simply won't go out. Leave employees inactive until the send-out of all scheduled emails has passed (for example a day, to cover all time zones). Then, reimport the file you exported, to reinstate the original activity status for all employees. Or if all employees were originally active, simply bulk set them to active. |
Contact the Support team and ask them to mark the round as a test, and to instantly hard close it. This can only be done by the Support team. |
Survey emails HAVE already sent, and employees are answering the survey. |
It's not possible to retract survey emails via Peakon. |
Contact the Support team and ask them to mark the round as a test, and to instantly hard close it. This can only be done by the Support team. Hard closing the survey invalidates survey links, so employees can't provide further responses. Any already collected data is only available in test view. At this point, it's vital to send an internal message to employees, explaining why the link won't work. |
