If you enable data collection on a survey with an automated survey frequency, the survey will continue to launch at the selected cadence until you deactivate it (outside of a live survey round). It's not possible to fully deactivate a live survey round in the user interface on the customer's side.
If a survey has launched without your intention, contact the Workday Support team immediately and follow the steps in this article.
Deactivate survey notifications
Responsible: Administrator.
Deactivating the survey notifications is a time-sensitive action in rectifying an accidental survey launch, so we recommend that you do this as soon as possible.
Deactivating the below survey notification methods has immediate effect. Even if your survey send-out has started in some time zones, deactivating the survey channels that you're enabled will prevent further send-out. You can reactivate the survey channels at any time.
It's not possible to retract survey notifications that have already sent, but the steps in the Close and remove survey from the dashboard section will invalidate them.

Edge case: Multiple live survey rounds
If you need to avoid deactivating company-level survey channels (Example: Slack) affecting other live Peakon surveys, instead mark employees as inactive to skip them in the survey send-out for any channel.
Use this workaround if both conditions are true:
- You have multiple live survey rounds and only need to deactivate one survey round.
- You're using integrations for survey notifications.
Steps:
- Go to Administration > Employees.
- Use the left side filters to replicate the targeting from the survey that you need to close.
- (Optional) Export the list of employees to have a record of their current settings. You can later reimport this list to reactivate them, or reactivate them manually using the filter targeting.
- Select all employees, then click Edit.
- Set the Engagement setting within the Preferences section to inactive.
- Save changes.
- Reactivate the employees only when the survey send-out has passed, or after the Workday Support team has hard closed the survey round.
Close and remove survey from the dashboard
Responsible: Workday Support.
Contact Workday Support and request to:
- Mark the survey round as a test round.
- Instantly hard close the survey round.
Hard closing the survey round invalidates survey links, so employees that already received the notification can't provide further responses. Any survey data that employees already submitted during this survey round moves to the test round view. See Test surveys for more information.
We also recommend sending an internal message to employees to explain why the links won't work.
