My engagement score is X, but the average of all my driver scores is X - why does this not add up?
You can think of the Engagement score as its own 'Driver'. It is composed of these 4 questions, although your organization may not use all 4:
- How likely is it that you would recommend [Company] as a place to work?
- How likely is it you would recommend [Company]’s services to friends and family?
- If you were offered the same job at another organisation, how likely is it you would stay at [Company]?
- Overall, how satisfied are you working at [Company]?
The overall engagement score is the average of each employee's own engagement score, which, in turn, is the average of their latest answer to each of these 4 questions, as long as those scores are within your company's visibility period (the options are 3 months, 6 months or 1 year).
The engagement score is not an average of all other driver questions. Having said that, there can be a correlation between engagement and some other drivers, for example maybe if an employee feels positive towards Growth at your company, they may also be more engaged overall, and feel more loyalty toward the company. However, in terms of the calculation, the engagement score is purely made up of its own questions, as is every other driver score.
