With your employees added to the system, it’s time to assign managers and leaders the appropriate permissions within the platform. You can use the default Access Control groups, or create your own custom Access Control group. These will enable you to control what features managers and other groups have access to and what they can see on their Peakon dashboards.
The default Manager group populates automatically, on account of someone being a people manager, as defined by the employee set up in the previous step. Any other groups, except for Employees, are managed manually.
There are 3 types of Access Control groups:
Group level | Explanation | Adding users |
---|---|---|
All employees |
This group gives you access to all employees within the company. Once someone is added to such a group, regardless of whether they manage any employees or segments, they will automatically gain access to all employees. What they are able to do within the platform can then be adjusted through the permissions. |
Any existing user can be added. |
Managed employees |
This type of group only gives you access to managed employees, whether it's your team, or a specific country or region. To be added to such a group, the user must "qualify" by first having been assigned to manage employees or a segment. Again, the permissions of what these users can do need to be adjusted on a group by group basis. |
Only users with an assigned reporting line or a managed segment can be added to such groups, so this needs to be done first. |
Individual |
The default Employees group is an Individual group type, and automatically contains all users of a company. This is generally used for all permissions relating to survey participant access to personal dashboards. See Managing personal dashboard access. |
Any user can be added (or is automatically added, in case of the default 'Employees' group) |
