This article will cover the configuration of your benchmark settings. To learn more about benchmarking and the options mentioned in this article, see About benchmarking and how it works.
Setting the industry benchmark
When setting the benchmark preference, this will apply to data for all time.
To set your company's benchmark preference:
- Go to Administration > Data settings
- Choose the Benchmark tab
- Under Industry Benchmark, expand the drop down menu
- Select a benchmark option
When selecting Peakon or Industry benchmark, it also becomes possible to choose a percentile, for example the top 25% of Technology industry.
Enabling True Benchmark
True Benchmark provides a more accurate and personalized benchmark, based on your demographics. True Benchmark is enabled by selecting the attributes that Peakon should account for in the benchmark calculation. To learn more, see True Benchmark and how it works.
To enable attributes to be used in True Benchmark:
- Go to Administration > Data settings
- Choose the Benchmark tab
- Under Attributes used in True Benchmark, enable the attributes you wish to use for benchmark adjustments
If you are using a similar custom attribute instead of a default one and it has not yet been mapped to one of the below options, please reach out to the Support team to map it, so that it can be enabled for True Benchmark adjustments.
Segment-specific benchmark
A segment can be manually set to benchmark either to Peakon, a specific industry or a specific other segment (more in About benchmarking and how it works). When setting a segment-specific benchmark, it's also possible to propagate it to that segment's child segments when using hierarchies (About attribute hierarchies and how they work).
To set a segment specific benchmark:
- Go to Administration > Data settings
- Choose the Benchmark tab
- Under Segment-specific benchmark section, select a segment
- Set the benchmark to Peakon or Industry or a segment
- If the benchmark should be propagated downward, tick the Propagate benchmark to child segments option
